About Us

Blue River Career Programs (BRCP) is an Area Career & Technical Education School Corporation (Inter-Local). The student body is comprised of students from the 4 school corporations in Shelby County. They represent Morristown High School, Waldron High School, Southwestern High School, Triton Central High School, and Shelbyville High School.
BRCP was formed in 1972 in response to the needs of the community to prepare students for current and emerging careers. Since that time, programs within the career center have changed, evolved, been added, or outdated programs eliminated, with the continuous goal of providing training for careers that are primarily in high demand and high wage fields.
Blue River Career Programs currently offers 13 programs for high school students. Most of the BRCP high school programs offer dual college credits through Ivy Tech Community College. Most offer industry certifications, thus preparing students for college and career pathways.
Funding for these secondary programs comes directly from the sending school corporations. Additionally, there is a very strong Adult Basic Education (ABE) program offered that encompasses the High School Equivalency (HSE) class, English Language Learners(ELL), and a multitude of certificated adult training programs.
Collaborative education and training opportunities with community stakeholders continue to be the basis of our educational philosophy and efforts at BRCP.
